
Nailers Announce Playoff Dates

Wheeling, WV â The Wheeling Nailers have clinched the home ice advantage for the first round of the playoffs. The Nailers will finish in either first or second place in the Northern Division
The Nailers have set game one for Thursday April 8th at 7:00 PM, and game two is set for Friday April 9th at 7:30 PM. Games three and four will be on the road against an opponent that is still to be determined. Then the Nailers will return home for game five if necessary, which is set for Wednesday April 14th at 7:00 PM.
The Nailers opening round series will be a best of five games series, if they finish in first they will play the winner of a one game series between the fourth and fifth place teams in the Northern Division. If the Nailers finish in second they will play the third place team in the Northern Division. Currently Johnstown is in fourth place and Trenton is in fifth, but Reading has 77 points tying them with Trenton, in a tie breaker Trenton still holds fifth place for now. And Johnstown is only two points behind third place Atlantic City.
The last time the Nailers were in the Kelly Cup Playoffs was in 1997-98 when Head Coach Peter Laviolette led them to the Northern Conference Finals. The Nailers have 100 points, the most ever by the Wheeling franchise, and are looking to win the Henry Brabham Cup for the most points in the regular season for the fourth time.
