
Chiefs Post Franchise Record 18th Road Win

Wheeling, WV- The Johnstown Chiefs posted their franchise record 18th road win of the season, with Friday's 5-3 win over the Wheeling Nailers at the WestBanco Arena. The Chiefs won the season series with a 6-3-0 record against the ECHL's best team.
Five different Chiefs lit the lamp as P.L. Courchesne, Chris Leinweber, Jason Notermann, Larry Courville, and Brent Kelly all scored. Wheeling had a pair of goals from Mario Larocque and a Bogdan Rudkeno tally.
Chiefs goaltender Dimitri Patzold got the win making 36 saves. Patzold was assigned to the Chiefs by the AHL Cleveland Barons earlier in the day. Nick Boucher made 22 saves for the Nailers.
The Chiefs remain in a tie with Atlantic City for third place in the Northern division with a 42-20-6 (90 PTS) record. Wheeling remains in first place (100 PTS) in the division with a 48-16-4 record.
Tomorrow (Saturday, March 27th) will be a "Slap Shot," reunion when the Chiefs host the Trenton Titans at 7:00 p.m., several characters from the cult hockey film will be in attendance. Among the cast attending are the Sparkle Twins (Louise and Janet Arters), Yvon Barrette (Denis Lemieux), former Johnstown Jet Guido Tenesi (Billy Charlebois), Paul D'Amato (Tim "Dr. Hook" McCracken), Chris Murney (Hanrahan), former Johnstown Jet Jean Tetreault (Andre Bergeron), Gracie Head (Pam) Woody Espy (stick boy), and Bill "Goldie" Goldthorpe (the player Ogie Ogelthorpe was based on) and TV announcer Jon McClintock.
Sunday, March 28th, versus the Cincinnati Cyclones is Jeff Sullivan Bobble Head and Fan Appreciation Day. Game time is at 2:30 p.m. The first 2,000 people through the gate will receive a Jeff Sullivan Bobble head doll courtesy of Crown American and the Johnstown Renaissance group. In addition, hundred of prizes, donated by Chiefs sponsors will be given away at random to fans throughout the game. Following the game, there will be a "Skate with the Chiefs," and autograph session, with the entire team participating. Skate rentals will not be provided
