
Blades Fall 2-1 in Roanoke

ROANOKE, VA - The Florida Everblades (34-25-10) were defeated by the Roanoke Express (34-26-8) 2-1 in front of 2,877 at the Roanoke Civic Center on Friday night. Roanoke forward Joe Dusbabek picked up the game winning goal in the third period to bring the Express to within two points of the Everblades in the Southern Division standings.
In the first period, the Everblades grabbed a 1-0 lead on the power play when forward John McNabb tipped in a Ryan Brindley point shot at the 10:50 mark of the period. The Express came right back and tied the game at 1-1 on a power play of their own when defenseman Duncan Dalmao fired a shot along the ice past Florida netminder Rob Zepp at the 15:28 mark.
After a scoreless second period, the Express took a 2-1 lead on the power play when forward Joe Dusbabek flipped in a rebound at the 8:30 mark of the period.
Florida goaltender Rob Zepp (14-13-7) stopped 45 of 47 shots he faced while Roanoke netminder David Belitski (20-10-5) stopped 26 of 27 shots. The Everblades were 1 for 5 on the power play while the Express were 2 for 6.
The Blades remain on the road and take on the Greensboro Generals on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM. Florida returns home to host the Augusta Lynx in a pair of games on Friday, April 2nd and Saturday, April 3rd at 7:30 PM.
