
Bilotto Joins Mississippi

BILOXI, Miss. â The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League announced that they have reassigned defenseman Nic Bilotto (buh-LAHT-toh) to the Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL.
In another roster move, the Sea Wolves transferred right wing Jack Baker from the 7-day injured reserve to the 30-day injured reserve.
Bilotto, 25, was acquired by Mississippi at the trade deadline on February 18 from the Charlotte Checkers for defenseman Andrei Lupandin (AHWN-dray lew-PAHN-dihn). The 6-foot-2 and 215-pound Bilotto notched four goals, 12 points, +2 and 32 penalty minutes in 18 games with Springfield this season. The native of Montreal, Quebec also appeared in 49 games with Charlotte registering seven goals, 28 points, +13 and 66 penalty minutes. Bilotto was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the sixth round, 149th overall in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
Baker, 24, was placed on the injured reserve on March 16. The 5-foot-9 and 170-pound Baker has appeared in three games with Mississippi, posting a +1 and two penalty minutes. He was acquired by Mississippi in a trade with Florence on March 4 for futures. A native of Boston, Baker has also played with Augusta this season, accumulating a total of 37 games played, five goals, 18 points and 24 penalty minutes.
Bilotto is expected to make his Sea Wolves debut at 7:35 p.m. tonight against the Louisiana IceGators at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. The game promotion consists of 2-for-1 military, sponsored by Keesler Federal Credit Union. Broadcast of the game starts at 7:20 p.m. with the Nextel Pregame Show on ESPN Radio WXBD-AM 1490 and online at msseawolves.com.
The Sea Wolves also play at home at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday against the Columbus Cottonmouths at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. It's the 2nd annual Faceoff Against Kids' Cancer charity event. A $15 t-shirt is your ticket into the game followed by the postgame party and jersey auction at the Beau Rivage Magnolia Ballroom to benefit Caps For Kids and Candlelighters. The game also features Honor Roll Night, sponsored by Cellular South and WXXV Fox 25. In addition, the party four-pack is available, which consists of four tickets, four hotdogs and four soft drinks starting at only $44.
