February 18, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Reading Royals News Release

Johnstown, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL (1st Atlantic Division, 32-13-2-3=69), affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, defeated the Wheeling Nailers (1st North Division, 29-19-0-3=61), 1-0, in a shootout at a Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Goaltender Matt Dalton, who was assigned to the Royals from the Providence Bruins today, established a team record with a 48 save shutout. He also stopped all four Nailers shooters in the shootout. Andrew Sarauer and Ben Gordon both hit pay-dirt for the Royals in the shootout. Dalton (win, 12-6-1-0, 48/48 in 65:00, 4/4 in shootout) made any number spectacular stops during the night-particularly during a first period barrage from the Nailers- and stretched his personal unbeaten streak in Reading to five games (4-0-1-0). Wheeling's Patrick Killeen (sol, 17-10-0-2; 36/36 in 65:00; 2/4 in shootout) was equally good, particularly during a late game push from Reading.

The Royals and Nailers go at it again tomorrow (Saturday, February 19, 2011 @ 7:05) at the Sovereign Center when the Royals will host the fourth annual Pink in the Rink Celebration. The team will wear special jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game to benefit Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County. The Royals game day broadcast will kick off with the pre-game warm-up show presented by The Works at Wyomissing on the Royals Broadcast Network (WRAW 1340 am in Reading, www.1340wraw.com) at 7:05 pm. You can also catch all of the Royals away games this season on Royals TV exclusively on BCTV courtesy of Boscov's Travel, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
