Reading Royals News Release
READING, PA â The Reading Royals will be âAt Your Service' on Thursday, April 1st at Outback Steakhouse in Wyomissing. This is the third year of this event, which in the past has raised over $2,500 for charity. The 2003-04 Royals hockey club is stepping away from their Kelly Cup Playoff run to help those in need. From 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., the Royals will be waiting on you at the Outback Steakhouse. Y102's Jackie Hoffman will be serving as Master of Ceremonies at the event. In addition, various Y102 on air personnel will be in attendance.
Royals' general manager Ray Delia said this is a great way for the organization to give back to the community, "We are pleased to continue our tradition of bringing the Royals' At Your Service to a local restaurant. We are excited to be working with two tremendous partners in Outback Steakhouse and WRFY. As in the past, I am sure our fans will thoroughly enjoy this event."
The cost is just $10 per person. All proceeds and gratuities collected from the event will go to benefit Royals Charities. Royals Charities is committed to providing assistance to charitable organizations throughout Reading, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding area serving seriously ill, disabled or disadvantaged youth and their families through fundraising activities, charitable drives and charitable grants or donations.
The Reading Royals finish off the regular season with two games at home this weekend. Reading hosts Johnstown on Friday night and the first 2,000 fans at the game will receive the fourth edition of Royals hockey trading cards courtesy of Rieck's Printing. Saturday, Reading closes out the regular season against Northern Division foe, Toledo. Saturn of Reading is handing out Royals seat cushions to the first 2,000 fans through the gate. Both contests face off at 7:05 p.m. in the Sovereign Center in downtown Reading.
