
Ice Pilots Pick Up Four Of Six Points Last Week

Ice Pilots go 2-0-1 this past week: The Pensacola Ice Pilots went 2-1-0 this past week defeating Columbus at home on Friday night 5-4. Dwayne Hay scored two goals in the game including the game winner with 2:40 left in regulation time. The Ice Pilots lost at home on Saturday night 4-1 vs. Texas. Brad Cruikshank scored the only goal of the game for the Ice Pilots. The Ice Pilots won at Texas on Sunday 9-6. It was the most goals that the Ice Pilots have scored in the game this season. Tyler Beechey scored 4 goals in the game. Dwayne Hay scored the game winning goal and picked up 4 assists. Aaron Phillips scored two goals for the Ice Pilots and Brian Eklund was the winning goalie.
The Ice Pilots have a record of 38-21-9 for 85 points which is good for third place in the Central Division of the Western Conference. The Ice Pilots 85 points is a franchise record and the 38 wins ties a franchise record with the Ice Pilots second and sixth year teams finishing the season with 38 wins.
The Ice Pilots can clinch a Kelly Cup Playoff Birth on Tuesday night. If the Ice Pilots win and Columbus loses their game at home vs. Mississippi in overtime or in regulation, the Ice Pilots clinch a playoff spot or if the Ice Pilots pick up a point on Tuesday with an overtime or shootout loss and Columbus losses in regulation, the Ice Pilots clinch a playoff spot.
Final Home game of the regular season is Tuesday vs. Texas at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 30th vs. Texas is Fan and Corporate Appreciation Night as prizes will be given out at the game. It is also College Night. College students can buy one ticket and get one free with college I.D. on any seat location except glass seats. The Ice Pilots have a 8-3-2 record vs. Texas this year including 5-1 at home and 3-2-2 on the road.
Ice Pilots play at Louisiana, Thursday, at Miss issippi Friday and at Columbus on Saturday: The Ice Pilots will wrap up the regular season schedule on the road this Thursday at Louisiana at 7:05 p.m., at Mississippi on Friday at 7:35 p.m. and at Columbus on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. central time. The Ice Pilots have a record of 7-6 vs. Louisiana this season including a record of 5-2 at home and 2-4 on the road. The Ice Pilots have a record of 5-4-4 vs. Mississippi this season including a record of 4-2-1 at home and 1-2-3 on the road. The Ice Pilots have a record of 4-1 vs. Columbus this season including a record of 3-1 at home and 1-0 on the road.

Ice Pilots in Tie for Third Place: The Ice Pilots are tied for Third place in the Central Division with a record of 38-21-9 for 85 points. The tie breaker system if two teams are tied with points is most number of wins first, then head to head points and head to head wins.
Ice Pilots leaders: Ice Pilots defenseman Corey Neilson leads the team with 75 points and leads the team with 57 assists and is third in the league with his 57 assists. Neilson leads all defenseman in the league in scoring. Neilson is first in the league with 41 power play points and first with 33 power play assists. Brian Eklund is first in the league with 36 wins, (which is the second most by an echl goalie in a season) 2,114 saves (which is a league record), 3,600 minutes played and is second with 5 shootout wins. Eklund's 36 wins is an Ice Pilots record for most wins by a goalie in a season. Jean Francois Soucy is second among all rookies with 57 minor penalties. Peter Fregoe is second among rookies with 5 shorthanded points and 3 shorthanded goals.
Nominated Player of the Week: Tyler Beechey has been nominated for Player of the Week and Brian Eklund has been nominated for goalie of the week. Tyler Beechey is the Ice Pilots Dodge Player of the Week.
Season Ticket Packages are available with year round payments: Full season ticket packages and 16 game packages are available with year round payments. The following is a list of the full season ticket plan with year round payments: $22 seats for floor and glass is $49.99 per month, $15 seats for sides is $35.99 per month, $13 seats for goal and lower upper level is $32.99 per month, $10 seats for upper level is $24.99 per month.
Group Tickets: Group tickets are available at the Ice Pilots office. A group of 15-24 will receive $2 off per ticket and scoreboard recognition. A group of 25-99 will receive $2 off per ticket, scoreboard recognition, the group leader receive two free tickets with a minimum of 25 tickets purchased and group members are eligible to become an MVP. Each group member fills out and MVP card, (Cards are mailed with the group tickets), and drops the card in the MVP box at customer service before the game, and has the opportunity to win a valuable prize! Groups of 100 or more will receive scoreboard recognition, two free tickets, MVP cards plus $3 off per ticket and an opportunity to perform the national anthem or participate in the ceremonial puck drop (Subject to availability and approval).
Birthday Parties: Celebrate your birthday with the Ice Pilots. The Ice Pilots birthday party package includes hot dogs, cokes, cake and 10 $15 lower goal game tickets, a special gift pack for the birthday person delivered by Iceman, a birthday card signed by the Ice Pilots and scoreboard recognition. Assigned Players from Tampa Bay: The Ice Pilots currently have eight players on the roster assigned from Tampa Bay. They are goalies Brian Eklund, Evgeny Konstantinov and forward Dwayne Hay. Forward Jean Francois Soucy, forward Evgeni Arthukin forward Ryan Craig and defenseman Jeremy Van Hoof and Andreas Holmqvist are also assigned from Tampa. Ryan Craig and Evgeni Artukhin have been called up to Hershey.
Kerr's Kids: This season the Ice Pilots are introducing "Kerr's Kids." Thanks to Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr and SMG (Pensacola Civic Center), the Ice Pilots would like to invite six children and their escorts to a game. The Ice Pilots will provide free admission, a goodie bag for each child and SMG will provide a hot dog and soda for each guest. Accessible seating will be arranged for "Kerr's Kids" in section 105. Listen to games on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network: Fans can listen to Ice Pilots games on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network. The network includes flagship station WCOA AM 1370, Mediacom's preview guide channel, ESPN Radio AM 1340 in Okaloosa and Ft. Walton counties, Cox Media channel 2 and at icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue. Coach's Radio Show has new location this season: The Ice Pilots Coach's Radio show is broadcasted from the Gutter Lounge at Phoenix Crossing inside the new Liberty Lanes this year located at 3200 North Palafox Street. The show is broadcasted on the Ice Pilots hockey network from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Fans can hear the radio show on WCOA AM 1370 and on the internet at www.icepilots.com sponsored by Sports Avenue. Fans can meet the players, head coach Todd Gordon and members of the Ice Pilots office staff all season long. Kent Sauer and Greg Chambers will be the player guests tonight on the Coach's Radio Show.
