
Royals End Tough Week with Big Win at Augusta

The Royals season high five-game road trip comes to a close tomorrow night in Charleston, South Carolina against the Stingrays. Reading battled to a 1-3-0 record last week. Thanksgiving week started with a 4-3 loss to the Greensboro Generals on Wednesday. The Generals avenged a loss from a week and a half earlier in Reading. The Royals trip continued on in Florence, South Carolina on Friday night. The Pride handed the Royals their worst defeat of the season 5-1. Reading traveled up I-20 to Augusta to have their first-ever battles with the Lynx. Friday, Augusta handled Reading 3-1. Sunday, afternoon the Royals secured their only win of the week with a 2-1 overtime victory.
The Royals will return home on Tuesday evening after doing battle with the South Carolina Stingrays. Reading will host the Roanoke Express for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday nights. Friday evening the first 2,000 fans through the gate receive the first series of Rieck's Printing Royals hockey trading cards. On Saturday, St. Joseph Medical Center is handing out Royals growth charts to the first 1,000 children 12 and under.

GAME NOTES: The Greensboro Generals avenged a loss a week and a half earlier at the hands of the Royals in Reading. The Generals overcame a 3-1 deficit to win in regulation 4-3. Scooter Smith was a bright spot for Reading scoring his first two professional goals. All-time the Royals have posted a record of 6-8-1.
Friday, November 28 vs. Florence Florence County Civic Center 7:30PM
GAME NOTES: Reading dropped their third straight road game in Florence South Carolina to the Pride, 5-1. The Pride were led by Wes Goldie who registered a hat trick. The game was dictated by special teams play. The Pride notched four power play goals and a shorthanded tally. The only Reading goal came off the stick of Matt Passfield on the power play.
Saturday, November 29 vs. Augusta Augusta Civic Center 7:35PM
GAME NOTES: The Augusta Lynx and Reading Royals met for the first-time ever in Augusta Georgia Saturday night. The Lynx downed the Royals 3-1 behind two first period tallies which proved to be the difference. It was the second straight game the Royals scored just one goal. Nick Lent popped in the Royal power play goal.
Sunday, November 30 vs. Augusta Augusta Civic Center 4:05PM
GAME NOTES: Reading snapped a season high three-game losing skid with an overtime victory in Augusta. Reading got revenge on the Lynx for a 3-1 loss the night before. Ian Turner registered his first goal of the season 3:19 into overtime to give the Royals a 2-1 win. Graig Mischler accounted for the other Royals goal.

GAME NOTES: The Reading Royals and South Carolina Stingrays meet for the fourth time in their histories. Reading has posted a 2-0-1 record with both victories coming at home in the Sovereign Center in Reading. This is the only meeting between these two teams in the regular season.

GAME NOTES: The Royals open up a two game set against the Express this weekend. Roanoke has dominated this series in the last two years. Reading has a 2-10-1 record versus Roanoke and in club history an 8-14-1 mark.
Saturday, November 6 vs. Roanoke Sovereign Center 7:05PM
GAME NOTES: The second of back-to-back games in the Sovereign Center. The Royals have never beaten the Express in the Sovereign Center posting a 0-6-1 record. The Royals and Express will meet one more time in Roanoke on Sunday, January 25.

Smith recorded his first two professional goals in Greensboro on Wednesday. Both goals came on the power play. The Calgary, Alberta native also chipped in an assist on Sunday in the Royals overtime win over Augusta.

Rudkowsky appeared in all four games this week. The workhorse netminder led the Royals to a huge win on the road in Augusta stopping 20 shots on Sunday afternoon. Reading broke a season high three game slide and four straight losses on the road.
