December 2, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Devils News Release
TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans announced today that they have added the Japanese National Men's Tpeam to a weekend of exhibition games to be hosted by the Titans at Sovereign Bank Arena.
"We are thrilled to be able to host Spartak and the Japanese National Team in Trenton during the holiday season," said Trenton Titans owner and CEO, Geoffrey Berman. "These are very special games that will commemorate the Titans fifth year anniversary at Sovereign Bank Arena."
With the Russian team, Spartak, already slated to play the Titans in an exhibition match, the addition of the Japanese team has allowed the Titans to create an international round robin to take place after the Christmas holiday. Japan and Spartak will face-off on Friday, December 26th at 7:30pm. The Titans will then take on the Japanese team on Saturday, December 27 at 7:00pm and Spartak on Sunday, December 28 at 3:00pm.
Though the games will not count in any team's respective league standings, the winner will walk away with international bragging rights. The Japanese team continues their American tour as they skate against the Reading Royals on Tuesday, December 30 at the Sovereign Center and then travel west to take on the Idaho Steelheads and Long Beach Ice Dogs. The team features players ages 20 to 26 from Japanese university and corporate leagues and is coached by former Winnipeg Jets assistant Glen Williamson.
Tickets for the exhibition games at Sovereign Bank Arena are available now by calling a Titan Ticket Representative at 609.599.9500. Tickets for adults are $11 - $26. Tickets for children are $9.50, except in Gold Circle seating. Full season ticket holders should contact their Titan Ticket Representative by December 10th for discounted tickets to Friday night's game between Spartak and Japan.
The Trenton Titans are a member of the ECHL - America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Trenton Titans play at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ. The Titans skate into Dayton on Saturday, December 6th, 7:00pm to take on the Bombers at the Nutter Center. Trenton continues on Wheeling to take on the Nailers once again on Sunday, December 7 at 6:00pm.
