ROUND ROCK, Texas -- Former Isotope Josh Lindblom allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings as the Round Rock Express held off the Albuquerque Isotopes, 4-3, on Friday night at Dell Diamond.

Lindblom was working on a one-hit shutout in the sixth inning, with a 4-0 lead, when Dee Gordon tripled and scored on a groundout by Alfredo Amezaga. Matt Angle hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning to trim the Express lead to 4-3.

In the ninth, Brian Barden singled with two outs. Pinch runner Tony Gwynn, Jr. was thrown out trying to steal second base to end the game.

Topes starter Javy Guerra (0-2) allowed four runs, two earned, in five innings. It was his longest start of the season.

An error by Amezaga in the third inning led to the two unearned runs. Eli Whiteside hit a solo homer, his second in as many nights, in the fourth inning. Guerra also surrendered a solo home run to JIm Adduci in the fifth inning.

Game three of the four-game series is Saturday night. Matt Magill is the scheduled starting pitcher for Albuquerque. Another former Topes pitcher, Ross Wolf from the 2006-08 squads, will start for Round Rock. First pitch is at 6:05 pm MDT.
