RedHawks Win Rain-Shortened Game, 2-0

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City RedHawks (11-10) won a rain-shortened six-inning game, 2-0, against the New Orleans Zephyrs (10-10) Friday night in front of a crowd of 6,095 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The win snapped a three-game losing skid for the RedHawks and marked their second shutout win of the season. Rain started to fall at 8:51 p.m. after the RedHawks scored their second run with two outs in the bottom of the sixth. Despite the best efforts of the grounds crew to make the field playable, it was in the best interest of the players to complete the game early after a 2 hour, 40 minute delay.

Although Friday was ruled a complete game due to the inclement weather, the RedHawks would like to reward those fans who came out to Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Tickets for Friday's game can be exchanged for a ticket of equal or lesser value for any remaining home game of the 2013 season based on availability. Fans must redeem their tickets in person at the RedHawks ticket office. For any questions, please call the RedHawks front office at 405-218-1000.

RedHawks pitcher Dallas Keuchel, in his first start of the season with Oklahoma City, struck out five and allowed three hits in six shutout innings. Keuchel (1-0) was on the RedHawks opening day roster before being recalled by Houston April 6. He made four relief appearances for the Astros before being optioned to Oklahoma City April 25.

Jimmy Paredes, Marc Krauss and Jonathan Villar each had two hits for the RedHawks. Krauss and Andy Simunic each recorded one RBI.

Krauss picked up his team-leading 20th RBI of the season in the first inning on a double hit deep to left field that scored Paredes for a 1-0 lead.

Villar scored on a sacrifice fly to center from Simunic in the bottom of the sixth inning for a 2-0 edge.

Former RedHawk Doug Mathis (1-2) allowed seven hits, struck out four and walked three in 5.2 innings.

The series with New Orleans continues for the RedHawks with a 7:05 p.m. game Saturday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
