
Colorado Springs Bats too Much for Tucson

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox pounded 18 hits, including 11 for extra bases, and had all of their starters reach base in a 13-5 win over the Tucson Padres Thursday at Kino Stadium. The Sky Sox hit four triples to tie a team record for triples in a game.
Colorado Springs scored in every inning except the fourth and the fifth with their largest scoring output coming in the seventh when they tallied three runs. Charlie Blackmon compiled three hits, three RBIs and three runs in the game. The Sky Sox center fielder also hit his second home run of the season in the top of the ninth. Daniel Robertson led the Padres offense with three hits and three RBIs of his own, including a two-run home run in the final inning.
Drew Pomeranz earned his third win for Colorado Springs, going six innings scattering three hits and two walks while striking out six and allowing only one run. The lefthander also had two hits and an RBI at the plate. Tucson starter Keyvius Sampson took the loss, allowing four hits, two walks and three earned runs in two innings of work. Sampson left the game with Tucson's athletic trainer in the top of the third after surrendering a leadoff walk.
