Rockford Signs York to PTO

Rockford, Ill.- The American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs have announced today that they have signed goaltender Allen York to a PTO.

York joins the IceHogs after playing three games with the Evansville IceMen of the ECHL. This season he has played in six games with the Texas Stars and helped in one game with the Charlotte Checkers. His one appearance with the Checkers came on Oct. 26 against Rockford where he made 28 saves in a 2-1 shootout loss.

The Wetaskiwin, Alberta native has appeared in ten games overall this season posting a 5-2-2 record, with a 3.21 goals-against average with a .888 save percentage.

In the NHL, York played between the pipes for the Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2011-12 season where he played in 11 games, posting a 3-2-0 record with a 2.30 GAA and a .919 SPCT.

York also spent some time with the Springfield Falcons of the AHL from 2010-2012, where he played nine games posting a 4-2-0 record, with a 2.93 GAA and a .898 SPCT.

York was drafted in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets, in round 6 (#158 overall).

Next Home Game: Friday, Dec. 13 vs. Oklahoma City Barons. The puck drops at 7 p.m. with the first 2,500 fans through the gates receiving a Hubert Doll courtesy of BMO Harris Bank.
