Sacramento River Cats News Release
West Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats fell to the Fresno Grizzlies, 7-1, on Tuesday night at Rley Field. The Cats lost despite a solid starting pitching performance by starter Mike Saipe, who allowed just 1 earned run in 6 1/3 innings of work. The River Cats offense managed just one run and 4 hits on the night, with two hits and the only RBI coming off the bat of Matt Watson. The Grizzlies, on the other hand, got huge production out of the top of their lineup, as their 1-2 hitters (Doug Clark and Kevin Frandsen respectively) went a combined 7-for-10 with 3 doubles. The River Cats and Grizzlies square off again on Wednesday, as RHP Mike Ziegler (5-6, 5.23) takes the mound for the Cats against Fresno's RHP Mitch Wylie (3-3, 3.56).
