Oklahoma City Comets News Release

The RedHawks scored all their runs in the third inning in Tuesday's 5-3 win over New Orleans at SBC Bricktown Ballpark.

The win kept the RedHawks in first place by one half game over Albuquerque, which beat Round Rock Tuesday night. Round Rock is now two and a half games behind Oklahoma.

The RedHawks also broke the club's single-season attendance record, passing the makr set in 1998. The RedHawks drew 491,036 fans in 1998. After Tuesday's game, the RedHawks attendance for 2005 is 495,305.

Oklahoma's five-run third started with a walk and two singles. Chris Richard then tripled to right field to drive in two runs and make the score 3-0. Doubles by Manny Alexander and Rashad Eldridge gave the RedHawks a 5-0 lead.

New Orleans scored runs in the fourth, eighth and ninth runs when the lead off batter reached in those innings. R.A. Dickey started for the RedHawks and went seven innings, giving up one unearned run on three hits with four walks and four strikeouts.

Dickey's ninth win ties him for the team lead with John Wasdin. Wasdin has been with Texas since June 12. Jose Veras had his 23rd save of the season.

The RedHawks and Zephyrs meet again at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at SBC Bricktown Ballpark. Fans can receive a free ticket to any game the rest of the homestand by donating water to the New Orleans relief effort.
