River Cats comeback nets 4-3 victory

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Sacramento River Cats (36-24) beat the Edmonton Trappers (27-32) by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday at Raley Field. The win improved Sacramento's record to a season-best 12 games above .500.

The River Cats rallied for 2 R in the ninth inning en route to the win. 2B Adam Morrissey tied the game at 3-3 when he singled in 3B Mark Teahen. Ramon Castro (pinch-running for PH Mike Rose) scored the winning run two batters later on a sacrifice fly by RF Matt Watson. Morrissey had a team-high 3 H in the game.

RHP Chris Mabeus (1-0) earned the win in relief for Sacramento. RHP Jason Childers (0-1) took the loss, allowing 2 ER on 2 H in 0.2 IP.

Tuesday's game marked the final regular-season game between the Sacramento River Cats and Edmonton Trappers, as Edmonton is slated to relocate to Round Rock (TX) following the 2004 season. During the River Cats' five seasons in Sacramento, they went 35-29 during the regular season and 3-0 during the postseason against the Trappers.

The River Cats have an off day scheduled for Wednesday, then will begin a four-game roadtrip at Salt Lake on Thursday (6 pm).
