TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Bowie Baysox will meet in the opener of a three-game series...The Altoona Curve used a four-run sixth inning to pull away from the Flying Squirrels and avoid a series-sweep with a 7-2 win on Sunday afternoon in front of 5,399 fans at The Diamond.

HOMESICK: The Flying Squirrels are batting .245 (140-for-571) in 17 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.18 runs per game at home (71R/17G)...Richmond is batting .197 (88-for-447) and are averaging 2.92 runs per game (38R/13G) in 13 contests...Seven of the club's 12 home runs have been hit at The Diamond...The Flying Squirrels .647 winning percentage is the second-best in the Eastern League trailing only the Trenton Thunder (11-4, .714)...Meanwhile, the club's .231 winning percentage on the road is the second-lowest in the league ahead of only the Portland Sea Dogs (2-10, .167).
DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE: The Flying Squirrels have gone a season-long five games without committing an error...The club has not had a miscue in the field since Justin Fitzgerald's error in the bottom of the sixth inning 5/4 at New Britain...Richmond is tied for second in the Eastern League with a .983 fielding percentage and is tied for the third-fewest errors committed on the season (20)...The Flying Squirrels have turned 29 double plays, second-most in the league behind New Britain (31).
PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 2.97 ERA through 30 games...The club leads the league in staff ERA even though it is tied the most walks (100) issued and most hits (261) allowed in the league...The Flying Squirrels rank third in the league with 242 strikeouts, and the pitching staff has logged a league-high 279 innings of work, 15 2/3 more innings than the Trenton Thunder who ranks second in innings pitched.
BOOK 'EM DAN-O: Right-hander Dan Otero has tossed 10 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings over his last six appearances, the longest scoreless streak of the season for a Flying Squirrels pitcher...The 26-year-old has struck out 13 batters and walked none while holding opponents to a .225 (9-for-40) average against over the course of the streak.
THE GEORGIA PEACH: Second baseman Charlie Culberson has hits in each of his last five games, his second hitting streak of at least five games this season...The 22-year-old is 7-for-19 (.368) with one RBI and two runs scored over his last five games...He has struck out just five times in 31 at-bats (16%) this month after striking out 22 times in 93 at-bats (24%) in April...Culberson leads the Eastern League with 124 at-bats and is fourth in hits (36), having appeared in all 30 games for Richmond this season.
