
Reynolds, Bats Walk off Charlotte 7-6

Louisville, KY - Matt Reynolds propelled the Louisville Bats (5-11) to the team's first walk-off win of the season, beating the Charlotte Knights (8-9) on Wednesday afternoon at Louisville Slugger Field.
The Knights got off to a quick start, putting the first run of the game on the board, hitting a home run in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead.
In the home half of the inning, Matt McLain and Matt Reynolds drew back-to-back to walks to get the Louisville offense going. After a sacrifice bunt put both runners in scoring position, Henry Ramos stepped to the plate and delivered an RBI single, evening the game at 1-1. With two outs in the inning, Johnny Pereda smashed his first home run as a Louisville Bat, a 401-foot shot to left center field, to clear the bases and give the Bats a 4-1 advantage.
Randy Wynne provided a solid start for Louisville on the mound, tossing three innings of one run baseball. Wynne gave up just three hits with a walk and a strikeout in his second start of the year.
The Bats offense stayed hot in the third, scoring two more early runs. Will Benson drove a single into right field to kick off the inning before stealing second and advancing to third on a wild pitch in the following at-bat. McLain followed with a walk and stolen base of his own to put two runners in scoring position. TJ Hopkins drew a two out walk to load the bases as Ramos stepped to the plate. Ramos belted a single into left field to score two more runs and extend the Louisville lead to five at 6-1.
The Knights found a way back in the game in the top of the sixth, scoring three runs to cut into the Bats lead as they found themselves down 6-4.
Charlotte scratched across two more runs to open the ninth, tying the game 6-6.
Will Benson drew a one out walk in the bottom of the inning to keep the Bats walk off hopes alive. With outs in the frame, Reynolds delivered his second double of the game, scoring Benson from first as Louisville earned its first walk-off victory of the season by a final score of 7-6.
The Bats and Knights will play game three of the series tomorrow night, Thursday, April 20 with first pitch set for 6:35 pm E.T. Right-hander Chase Anderson (1-1, 3.00) will take the mound for Louisville, facing off against righty Davis Martin (0-0, 2.81) on the hill for Charlotte.
