Rested Clips Defeat Bulls

February 21, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Ontario Clippers News Release

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL - The Agua Caliente Clippers (17-19) defeat the Windy City Bulls (20-18), 111-107, on Wednesday afternoon in their first game after the All-Star break.

After playing their last three games with seven players or less due to injuries and call-ups, the Clippers clearly benefited from the much needed rest. After the Bulls opened the game with a 19-4 run, Agua Caliente bounced back to take a 55-48 lead just before halftime. The Clippers gained a 10-point advantage with just 3:30 to play and were able to hold off a late Windy City run to come out on top.

Returning from a stint with the LA Clippers, two-way player Angel Delgado continued his dominance, leading the game with 28 points and 15 rebounds on an efficient 13-of-17 shooting from the field. Guard Manu Lecomte added 19 points, four rebounds, and six assists.

The Bulls made it interesting with a 12-2 run to tie the game at 107 with 1:15 left in the game but were unable to take control after allowing a second chance basket and missing a crucial layup down the stretch.

Walter Lemon Jr. led the way for Windy City with a double-double of 26 points and 13 assists. Keiser Gates flirted with a triple-double, recording 11 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists. JaKarr Sampson added 25 points to go along with eight rebounds.

Agua Caliente heads to Oshkosh next to take on the Wisconsin Herd on Friday evening. This matchup marks the first ever meeting between the two teams. Tip-off is slated at 5 p.m. PDT inside the Menominee Nation Arena.
