
Santa Cruz Warriors Complete Trade for Returning Rights to Guard Andre Dawkins, 2019 Draft Pick

SANTA CRUZ, CA - The Santa Cruz Warriors, the NBA G League affiliate of the back-to-back NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, have announced a trade to acquire the returning rights to guard Andre Dawkins and a second-round selection in the 2019 NBA G League Draft from the Agua Caliente Clippers. In exchange, the Warriors will send Agua Caliente the returning rights to forwards Beau Beech and Winston Shepard.
Dawkins (6-4, 206) appeared in 25 games during the 2017-18 NBA G League season with Agua Caliente, averaging 10.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 37.1 percent from deep (59-of-159 3FG) in 22.1 minutes. In his four-year NBA G League career, the Duke University graduate has averaged 14.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists on 41.1 percent from three (361-of-878 3FG) in 27.2 minutes for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Maine Red Claws, Texas Legends, Windy City Bulls and Agua Caliente Clippers.
Beech (6-7, 215) is averaging 13.0 points and 6.8 rebounds in 23 games (19 starts) with the Hamburg Towers of the German Pro A League this season. Acquired earlier this season in a trade with the Erie Bayhawks, Beech owns two years of NBA G League experience with career averages of 6.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 56 games (14 starts) with the Bayhawks and Long Island Nets.
Shepard (6-8, 200) appeared in 19 games (six starts) for the Santa Cruz Warriors in 2017-18, averaging 9.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 23.6 minutes. The San Diego State University grad is currently playing for Maccabi Ashdod of the Israeli BSL, averaging 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in 21.3 minutes across six games.
This Sunday, February 24, the Santa Cruz Warriors will host the Oklahoma City Blue (25-12) at Oracle Arena (tip-off 5:00 p.m. PST) in a matchup of the two best records in the NBA G League.
