Reign Open Three-Game Road Trip Tonight with Stop in Bakersfield

Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), visit the Bakersfield Condors tonight at 7:00 at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, California. Tonight is the third of 12 meetings between the two teams this season.

Winnings Ways:

The Reign carry a three-game winning streak into tonight's contest with recent victories against San Jose (2-1, Nov. 11), Stockton (4-0, Nov. 7) and San Diego (4-1, Nov. 5).

The Last Time We Met:

The Reign are 2-0-0-0 against the Condors this season and earned a 5-4 comeback victory in the last meeting on October 23 in Ontario, California. The Condors jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Reign scored four goals in two minutes and 42 seconds in the second period to earn the win on Opening Night at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

Carrying the Reign on his Back...man:

Forward Sean Backman netted the game-winning goal in the last two games for the Reign (5-0 W at Stockton on Nov. Nov. 7 and 2-1 W vs. San Jose on Nov. 11) and leads the team with 11 points (two goals, nine assists) heading into tonight's game. Backman also carries a five-game personal point steak (two goals, three assists) moving into tonight and leads the Reign with six power-play points (one goal, five assists).

Holding the Top Spot:

For the sixth straight contest, the Reign hold the top penalty-killing unit in the American Hockey League at 94.2 percent (three goals against on 52 chances) and allowed one power-play goal in the last five games (one goal against on 22 chances).

Budaj Backstops Reign:

Goaltender Peter Budaj leads the AHL with a 1.28 goals-against average and four shutouts, is tied for first with eight wins and is second with a .947 save percentage.

Scouting the Condors:

The Condors are coming off their biggest win and loss of the season in their previous two games with a 6-1 win at San Jose last Sunday and a 6-1 setback at San Diego on Wednesday and hold two wins in their last five games (2-3-0-0). Defenseman Brad Hunt leads the team with 10 points (three goals, seven assists) and eight power-play points (three goals, five assists).

On The Road Again:

After tonight, the Reign take their first-ever trip to Texas to battle the San Antonio Rampage on Friday, November 20 at 5:30 p.m. PT and the Texas Stars on Saturday, November 21 at 5:00 p.m. PT.

The Ontario Reign continue their three-game road trip with a journey to the Lone Star State on Friday, November 20 and Saturday, November 21 to take on the San Antonio Rampage and Texas Stars. The Reign visit the Rampage at AT&T Center on Friday at 5:30 p.m. PT and take on the Stars for the first time this season on Saturday at Cedar Park Center at 5:00 p.m. PT.

The Reign return to Citizens Business Bank Arena on Wednesday, November 25 to host the Stockton Heat at 7:00 p.m.
