Bears Shut Down by Sound Tigers

HERSHEY, Pa. - Bracken Kearns took the Bridgeport Sound Tigers' first shot of the game and itfound the net, and Chris Gibson stopped all 27 shots he faced at the other endto help the visitors hold the Hershey Bears off the score sheet for the secondconsecutive night in a 5-0 victory on Saturday at GIANT Center.

Kearns would score just 39seconds in. He carried down theleft wing on a two-on-one and snapped a shot over the glove of Justin Petersfor a 1-0 lead.

Matt Finn's first goal with hisnew team made it 2-0 when he slapped a pass from Ben Holmstrom into the net at16:33.

The Sound Tigers then struckfor two goals separated by 43 seconds early in the middle period to open up a4-0 advantage that the squad held at the second intermission. At 2:48, Alan Quine tucked alast-chance effort at the net front inside the left post for his seventh of theseason. Later, the Bears caught atough break when Ryan Stanton and Paul Carey collided in their own end, givingRyan Pulock a full breakaway that he finished with a backhander at 3:31. Dan Ellis came on in relief and stoppedall five shots he faced.

One shot that Ellis could notget was one that was going wide from the left point off of Kevin Czuczman'sstick. The puck hit the body of aBears defenseman at the right side of the crease and bounced into the net at13:17 of the third period, rounding out the scoring.

Gibson improved to 7-2-0 withthe win. Peters dropped to 3-2-2with six saves on 10 shots, while Ellis earns no decision with 11 saves on 12shots faced in 36:29 in relief.

The Bears are home again tomorrow,November 15 for a 5:00 PM faceoff against the Rochester Americans. The Bears will wear special camouflagejerseys that will be auctioned live post-game, and all fans in attendance willreceive an American flag courtesy of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local214.
