Canucks Recall Hunter Shinkaruk from Utica Comets

Vancouver, BC - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has recalled forward Hunter Shinkaruk from the Utica Comets.

Shinkaruk, 21, has scored 10 goals (10-3-13) in 12 games with Utica this season. Through November 13th the left-winger's 10 goals are tied for the AHL lead. In 2014-15, his first professional season, Shinkaruk recorded 31 points (16-15-31) and 28 penalty minutes over 74 games played. The Calgary, Alberta native also scored six points (4-2-6) in 23 postseason games with Utica through the 2015 Calder Cup Finals.

Shinkaruk was selected by Vancouver in the first round, 24th overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
