COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Redbirds recorded their third four-game series sweep of the season Tuesday night in Colorado Springs, downing the Sky Sox 13-6 as the Memphis offense remains red hot. The Redbirds previously took all four games from the Sacramento River Cats at Raley Field from May 21-24, and shut down the Las Vegas 51s from June 2-5 at AutoZone Park.

Memphis continued their trend of scoring early, dropping a three-run first inning on the Sky Sox. Greg Garcia delivered the game's first run on a soft single to left field scoring Rafael Ortega. Jeremy Hazelbaker continued his torrid start to his Redbirds career, ripping a two-run double into the Colorado Springs night, giving Memphis a 3-0 lead.

After falling behind in the second, the Redbirds added two more runs in the top of the fourth after Nick Martini and Alex Mejia each added an RBI. The Sky Sox would fight back and even things back up in the bottom half of the frame.

The tie game would not last long, as the Redbirds plated three runs in the top of the sixth inning, highlighted by a Rafael Ortega two-run triple. Memphis would not look back, adding another insurance run in the seventh courtesy of Nick Martini's RBI single.

The Redbirds broke things wide open in the ninth, adding four more runs to make it a 13-6 contest. Jeremy Hazelbaker and Alex Mejia each provided an RBI, while Nick Martini recorded a two-run triple.

Memphis starter John Gast (5-6, 4.45) lasted 5.0 innings in the series finale, allowing five runs, two of which were unearned, on eight hits and two walks while striking out two. The outing marked the 13th time this season Gast has allowed three earned runs or less in a start.

Right-hander Tyler Waldron bridged the gap to Sam Tuivailala, who closed out the contest and earned his 12th save over 1.1 innings.

Dan Johnson snapped his season-high seven game hitting streak, a stretch that saw the 35-year old hit at a .385 clip (10-for-26).

The Redbirds will head back home Wednesday to continue the Tennessee Lottery I-40 Cup Series by welcoming the cross-state rival Nashville Sounds (Triple-A Athletics) to AutoZone Park for a five-game series. The Tennessee rivals are currently tied at 3-3 through the first six games. Left-hander Jimmy Reed (0-1, 6.23) will make his second Triple-A start and toe the rubber for the Redbirds and will he opposed by veteran southpaw Barry Zito (5-7, 3.67). First pitch from AutoZone Park is set for 7:05pm CT.
