Memphis, Tenn. â Memphis picked up their first extra innings win of the season downing Oklahoma 5-4 Friday night at AutoZone Park.
LF John Gall singled into the left-center field gap in the bottom of the 10th inning to score 2B Hector Luna from second base and win the game. Luna led off the bottom of the 10th with a single to right field and moved up to second base on a wild pitch by Oklahoma's Justin Thompson. RF Raul Gonzalez was intentionally walked before Gall's single. The single was Gall's second hit of the night. Luna and Gonzalez each had two hits apiece, as well.
LHP Carmen Cali (2-2) picked up the win for the âBirds tossing a scoreless 10th inning. Thompson (0-1) took the loss for the RedHawks. Starter Adam Wainwright pitched seven innings and allowed three runs on nine hits with five strikeouts.
Memphis will send RHP Kevin Jarvis (3-1, 2.00) against Oklahoma's RHP John Wasdin (6-2, 4.85) tomorrow. Game time is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
