Redbirds Drop Finale of Series Against Sounds at AutoZone Park

MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Redbirds concluded a six-game homestand against the Nashville Sounds on Monday night with a 8-2 loss at AutoZone Park.

With two outs and none on in the bottom of the first inning, right fielder Matt Koperniak clubbed his fifth home run with Memphis into the Redbirds bullpen in left-center field. The home run put Memphis on top 1-0 and was Koperniak's 28th RBI of the season.

Tommy Parsons (0-5) did not allow a run until two Sounds scored in the fifth inning. The right-handed pitcher tossed 5.0 innings, allowed two runs on seven hits, walked three and struck out three. Memphis dropped five of the six games in the series against Nashville.

The Redbirds (40-41) return to AutoZone Park on Friday, July 14 to continue a six-game homestand at 7:05p.m. CDT against the Nashville Sounds.
