BUFFALO, NY - After dropping the first two games of the week, the Buffalo Bisons (3-2, 37-43) captured the final three games of the series with the Worcester Red Sox (2-3, 41-39), capping off the series with an 8-1 victory on Monday night at Sahlen Field to secure a series win.

The Bisons pitching staff allowed only one run over the final 18 innings of the series, and they retired the final 16 WooSox hitters of tonight's game.

Worcester scored the game's first run. After Ronaldo Hernandez and Stephen Scott reached to begin the second inning, Narciso Crook lined a double down the right-field line to score Hernandez and give the WooSox a 1-0 lead.

Over his last 16 games, Crook is hitting .315 (17-for-54) with 13 RBI.

Buffalo responded with four runs in the third. Nathan Lukes doubled in Cameron Eden to tie the game. After Rafael Lantigua reached on an error, Addison Barger lined a two-run single to left to put the Bisons in front 3-1. The next batter, Jordan Luplow, hit a double to plate Barger and extend the lead to 4-1.

In the fourth, Spencer Horwitz drove in Tyler Heineman with a sacrifice fly to make it a 5-1 game.

The Bisons tacked on three more in the fifth. Luplow led off the frame with a solo home run. Later in the inning, Heineman singled home a run to give Buffalo a 7-1 lead. Rafael Lantigua's sacrifice fly put Buffalo on top 8-1.

In his first start since June 25, Shane Drohan allowed five runs (three earned) over four innings. Drohan walked two and struck out five.

The WooSox return to Polar Park tonight and begin a six-game series and homestand against the Syracuse Mets tomorrow at 6:45 pm with patriotic UniBank Fireworks to follow the game. Right-hander Kyle Barraclough (2-0, 1.64) is the scheduled starter for Worcester.
