Rebels Defeat Rockets 7-4.

RED DEER, AB - The Red Deer Rebels ran their record to 4-0-0 after a 7-4 win over the Kelowna Rockets at the ENMAX Centrium.

The Rockets opened the scoring in the first period on a goal by Tyson Baille. The Rebels responded with a goal by Evan Polei, and just 18 second later, Polei struck again, giving the Rebels a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.

In the second period, the Rebels had goals by Michael Spacek, Grayson Pawlenchuk, Austin Pratt, and Colton Bobyk. The Rockets countered with a goal by Kole Lind. For Pratt, it was his first goal in the Western Hockey League. The goals by Pawlenchuk and Pratt were 17 seconds apart. It was 6-2 for Red Deer after two periods.

In the third period, the Rockets scored 13 seconds in on a goal by Calvin Thurkauf. Justin Kirkland got the Rockets to 6-4 with a goal later in the period. The Rebels closed out the scoring with an empty net goal by Presten Kopeck.

The final shots were 38-38; Rylan Toth made 34 saves in the Rebels net; Michael Herringer made 31 saves in the Rockets goal. Michael Spacek, Ivan Nikolishin and Colton Bobyk each have points in all four games that the Rebels have played this season.

The Rebels were 1 for 5 on the power play; the Rockets were 1 for 6.

The Rebels will travel to Lethbridge to play the Hurricanes Tuesday evening. The broadcast on 106.7 The Drive starts at 6:50PM.
