Game Story The Pats faced a sense of déjà vu in the opening frame of their matchup with the Hitmen. Elliott Peterson opened the scoring just shy of the four minute mark and Pavel Karnaukhov gave the visitors a two goal advantage before the Pats had a shot on goal. The Blue and White struggled to generate offence, posting three shots in the first period for the second game in a row to trail 2-0 after twenty. The second period saw the Pats pick things up offensively putting eleven shots on goal, but Lasse Petersen had the answer. The rookie netminder turned away all the Pats attempts while Tyler Brown stopped all eight Hitmen shots to keep the score at 2-0 after forty. The third period saw the Calgary powerplay ice the game when Travis Sanheim had the puck deflect in off his arm nearly six minutes into the frame. The Pats did get one puck over the goal line, but it was quickly ruled Riley Woods kicked the puck in as the Queen City Kids fell 3-0 to the Hitmen.

Quick Hits Tyler Brown made his first start of the season, making 29 saves on 32 shots. Lasse Petersen made his WHL debut for Calgary, stopping 19 shots for his first career win and shutout. Game attendance was 3,305.

What's Next? The Pats have another lengthy break before taking on the Vancouver Giants on Friday, October 9 at the Brandt Centre. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.ca, the Brandt Centre Box and Safeway locations throughout Regina.
