Hitmen lose to Warriors

Moose Jaw, SK - The Moose Jaw Warriors scored four powerplay goals en route to a 6-3 win over the Calgary on Saturday night at Mosaic Place.

With the game tied 2-2 midway through the second period, the Warriors erupted for three goals in a span of 2:31 to take a 5-2 lead and never looked back.

Noah Gregor scored twice and added an assist while Brayden Point, in his first game back from Tampa Bay Lightning camp, also had three points with a goal and two assists. Dryden Hunt, Jayden Halbgewachs and Dallas Valentine rounded out the Moose Jaw scoring in a contest that saw the Warriors outshoot Calgary 31-30.

The Hitmen got their goals from Chase Lang, Terrell Draude and Radel Fazleev who extended his point scoring streak to four games.

The two teams combined for 19 powerplay chances. Calgary went 1-8 on the man advantage. Moose Jaw was 4-11.

With the win, the Warriors improve to 2-0-1-0 while the Hitmen suffer their first loss dropping to 3-1.

Calgary will wrap up their three-game East Division road trip Sunday afternoon in Regina against the Pats. Game time is 4:00 p.m. with the radio broadcast on Sportsnet 960-The Fan.

The next Hitmen home game is Friday, Oct. 9 when Calgary welcomes the Red Deer Rebels to the Scotiabank Saddledome for a 7:00 p.m. start.
