TODAY'S GAME
The Calgary Hitmen wrap up a three-game East Division road trip this afternoon against the Regina Pats at the Brandt Centre. The Hitmen are 1-1 on the swing which began Friday night with a 3-2 win in Brandon. Last night, Calgary dropped a 6-3 decision in Moose Jaw. The Warriors broke a 2-2 second period tie scoring three goals less than three minutes apart. Noah Gregor (2g, 1a) and Brayden Point (1g, 2a) had three points each in the victory. Calgary, who received goals from Chase Lang, Terrell Draude and Radel Fazleev, lost for the first time following a season opening three-game winning streak. Moose Jaw outshot the Hitmen 31-30 in a contest that produced 19 power-plays. Calgary was 1-8 with the man advantage while Moose Jaw went 4-11.

STREAKS
- Radel Fazleev (3g, 2a) is on a team-leading four game point streak. Travis Sanheim (3a), Chase Lang (1g, 1a) and Jake Bean (1g, 1a) all have points in back-to-back games while Terrell Draude (2g) is riding a two-game goal scoring streak.
- Brendan Burke hasn't given up a goal in his last 120 minutes and 14 seconds of playing time. His .72 goals against average and .971 save percentage both lead the WHL.
NOTEWORTHY
- VS. REGINA: Today is the first of four regular season meetings between the two teams. Calgary won all four contests last season outscoring the Pats by a combined 18-8. Over the last five seasons, the Hitmen are 12-2-0-2 against the Pats including a 6-1-0-1 mark in Regina. The two teams will meet again on Sunday, October 18 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.
- WHL STANDINGS: The Hitmen enter today second in the Central Division at six points, two points behind the front running Red Deer Rebels. Regina is fourth in the East Division at two points, three points back of Moose Jaw and Brandon who share second place.
- SPECIAL TEAMS WORK: Only four games into the season the Hitmen have had 27 powerplay chances but have also been shorthanded 27 times. Both equate to a per-game average of 6.75 times. Around the WHL, only Brandon has had more reps with the man advantage at 28 while no other team has been shorthanded as often as Calgary.
- SOLID START: Philadelphia Flyers prospect Travis Sanheim has tallied some impressive numbers for Calgary. His four points (1g, 3a) is tied for fourth among all WHL defenceman while his +5 rating is tied for second among blueliners. The 19-year-old was a ninth round pick of the Hitmen, 177 overall, in the 2011 Bantam Draft.
- DEBUT: Hitmen defenceman Jakob LaPointe played his first career WHL regular season game last night in Moose Jaw. The 17-year-old, who spent last season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Lloydminster Bobcats, was a protected list addition by Calgary. LaPointe becomes the 320th player in franchise history to play at least one regular season game.
