The Week That Was...
The Stingrays opened up the 2008-09 season at home on Saturday night against the Augusta Lynx. After a hard-fought game, including a total of five power play goals, the Stingrays defeated the Lynx 5-3. Stingrays goals came from five different players: Paul Kelly, Sasha Pokulok, Tom Maxwell, Pierre-Luc O'Brien, and Michael Dubuc (first professional goal). O'Brien led the way in points by adding two assists for a total of three points for the game.
The Stingrays had the second-largest opening night attendance with 7,962. Only Stockton had more with 8,723.
