Daniels Named In Glas CO ECHL Player of the Week

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, are pleased to announce that center Kimbi Daniels has been named the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 13-19. The announcement was made earlier today at the ECHL offices in Princeton, N.J.
Daniels, 35, tallied a pair of power play goals, added three assists, and finished with a plus-one rating as the RoadRunners went 2-1-0 against the Victoria Salmon Kings in a three-game opening weekend series.
It's the first time in his 10-year ECHL career that Daniels has been the recipient of the league's weekly honor. The Long Plain, Manitoba native also becomes the second straight RoadRunners' skater to receive the first ECHL Player of the Week award of the season. Center Daniel Sisca was named the ECHL Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 15-21, 2007 after scoring four goals and adding two assists in a three-game opening weekend sweep last season against the Utah Grizzlies at US Airways Center.
Daniels is currently tied for second in the ECHL's scoring race. He has totaled 280 goals, 505 assists, and 785 points in 844 career games.
The RoadRunners continue their six-game season-opening home-stand at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday as they welcome the Idaho Steelheads to US Airways Center for the opening game of a two-game series.
