
Salmon Kings Welcome Leavold Back

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that right winger Brady Leavold has been assigned to Salmon Kings from the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL.
The Port Coquitlam, B.C. native played for the Salmon Kings in three regular season games (2g-0a) and two playoff contests (0g-1a) at the conclusion of last season after concluding his junior career with the Kelowna Rockets.
Leavold signed an AHL contract with Norfolk on August 7th, but the Salmon Kings held his ECHL rights after qualifying the forward on July 1st.
The 5-11, 190lb Leavold played in four games for Norfolk this season and picked up two minutes in penalties. He also attended the Tampa Bay Lightning's rookie camp in Victoria in late July.
During his 20-year-old junior season he was second on his team in scoring with 69 points (22g-47a) in 69 games. He was second in assists and third in plus/minus rating (+21) and power play goals (8). He led Kelowna in penalty minutes (163).
In the Rockets first round playoff series versus the Seattle Thunderbirds, Leavold led the Rockets with six goals he also added two assists for eight points in the seven game series.
Leavold began last season in Swift Current where he had played his entire four year career with the Broncos. He was traded two games into this season to Kelowna.
The 21-year-old finished his WHL career with 200 games played, 47 goals and 73 assists for 120 points. He was assessed 390 minutes in penalties. In 13 playoff games he accrued 10 points (8g-2a) over his WHL career.
Leavold also spent part of the 2006-07 season with the Burnaby Express (BCHL) playing in 24 games and scoring seven goals and gaining 15 assists.
The Salmon Kings roster is at 20 players (10 forwards, 8 defensemen and 2 goalies).
The Salmon Kings' home schedule begins on Friday when the team welcomes the Stockton Thunder to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre for a 7:05 p.m. game.
