THE WEEK THAT WAS - (2-0-0)

October 17, 2008 - The Wheeling Nailers opened the season with a 7-5 win over the defending Kelly Cup Champions The Cincinnati Cyclones. Nick Johnson scored the first goal of the season for the Nailers. Tommy Goebel had two assists. Goaltender Curtis Darling made 21 saves for his first victory of the season..

October 18, 2008 - The Nailers defeated the Johnstown Chiefs 4-2. Nick Johnson had 2 goals. Rob Sirianni had three assists. For the second season in a row, the Nailers were the home opener for the Johnstown Chiefs . David Brown made 33 saves for his first win of season. Out of Brown 's six victories last year. Brown beat the Chiefs twice.

The Wheeling Nailers scored 11 goals in the first two games are tied with Phoenix for the lead-lead. The Nailers allowed 7 goals in the first two games.

Nick Johnson , Andrew Lord scored their first two goals for Naliers

David Brown made 33 saves in his win of the season. Brown went 6-6-1 3.31 GAA for The Nailers in 2007-08.
