RoadRunners Daniels Named In Glas Co Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Phoenix center Kimbi Daniels is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Oct. 17-19.

The 35 year old had two power-play goals and three assists to help the RoadRunners go 2-1-0 at home against Victoria.

After registering two assists on Friday in a 7-1 win, the 5-foot-11 and 185-pound Daniels had another assist in a 2-1 win on Saturday before scoring two power-play goals in 3:26 of a 4-2 loss on Sunday.

Drafted in the third round (44th overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft, Daniels has played nine seasons in the ECHL and has 455 points (153g-302a) and 842 penalty minutes in 443 regular season games and 75 points (25g-50a) and 120 penalty minutes in 83 postseason games with Alaska, Charlotte, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Tallahassee and Wheeling.

The Long Plain, Manitoba native had 14 points (8g-6a) in 16 games to help Charlotte capture the Riley Cup championship in 1996 and 20 points (5g-15a) in 22 games to help Alaska win the Kelly Cup in 2006.

On behalf of Kimbi Daniels, a case of pucks will be donated to a Phoenix area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 20,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
