Rays Finish Week with Win over Florida

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Red Cross Blood Drive prior to the game on March 21st. The Stingrays had set a goal of 21 people and there were actually 27 people who donated blood! A special thank you also to the everyone who volunteered their time for the event.

MARCH 30th: Come join us for the End of the Year Season Ticket Holder and Booster Club Party. The event will be held at the Saturn of North Charleston off Rivers Ave. from 1-4pm.

Fundraising with the Rays: We have one more fundraiser coming up this year. Help us raise money for the Fraternal Order of the Police and the Distressed Officers Fund on Saturday, March 29th. Members of the FOP are selling the tickets for $10 with 100% of the proceeds going back to their organization, so ask your local, friendly, neighborhood police officer where you can purchase your ticket to support to police. During the game, the Stingrays will be holding a raffle auction for the remaining game-worn jerseys with proceeds going back to the FOP and Distressed Officers Fund. Hope to see you there!

Community Update: Trent Campbell will be tonight's guest on the Coach's Show. The Coach's Show airs live on ESPN Radio beginning at 6 p.m. or fans can come out to Bobby Hartin's Sports Grill in West Ashley to watch the show. Campbell has 37 points this season (14g-23a) and is a plus-18.

The 2007-08 Stingrays Team Photo will be available beginning Wednesday at the participating CiCi's locations in Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, and the brand new location at the Tanger Outlets in North Charleston. Secure your team photo prior to the Team Photo Giveaway at the game on March 29th.

Attention: Location Change for the CiCi's Team Photo Player Appearance!

The entire team will be out at the CiCi's in at Tanger Outlets on Thursday, March 27th from 5:30 7.m. until 7 p.m. for a team photo autograph session. Fans can secure their team photo early and get it signed by the team on this date only. Team Photos will be handed out at the last game of the year.

Roster News: This past week, the Stingrays added two players to the roster following the completion of their college seasons.

Matt Smith recently finished his senior season at RIT where he accumulated 107 points (58g-49a) in 120 career games. This season, he finished tied for third in Division I with 27 goals, and led the Tigers with 17 power play markers.

Nelson, 24, recently completed his senior season at Quinnipiac University, where he totaled 66 goals and 68 assists for 134 points in 143 career games. The 5-foot-10, 195-pound native of Spokane, Washington ranked among the top four in team scoring during each of his four years with the Bobcats, including a 35-point effort this season that finished second.

Latest in Hockey News: The Stingrays had just one game last week, a key division match-up with the Florida Everblades. Davis Parley remained solid in net and Captain Cail MacLean had two goals in the Stingrays 4-2 victory.

ECHL Leaders: Travis Morin is 7th in the league in scoring with 72 points (32g-40a) in 62 games, and he leads the league with six short-handed goals.

Grant McNeill, currently on recall to Hershey, has the league lead in minor penalties with 74 in 57 games. His 213 penalty minutes is first among defensemen and 13 major penalties is 3rd, tied with teammate Nate Kiser. Kiser continues to lead defensemen with four short-handed assists.

In goalie news, Davis Parley remains 5th among goalies with a 2.36 goals-against average. Josh Johnson is 17th with 2.81 goals-against average. Parley's .922 save percentage ties him for fourth.

Among rookies, the Stingrays have two of the top-20 point scorers. Travis Morin is 4th with 72 points, and Pierre-Luc O'Brien's is 16th with 51 points.

The Stingrays are in 3rd place in the South Division, just two points behind the Gwinnett Gladiators, and are in 4th place in the American Conference.

The Stingrays are 4th in the power play, converting 20.5% of the time, and 8th in the penalty kill, successful 84.4% of the time.
