The Augusta Lynx posted their first winning week since early February this past week with two wins against Pensacola and Gwinnett at home and a loss at Charlotte. The week began with the final trip of the season for the Lynx to Charlotte, as they were looking for their first win in the Charlotte Bobcats Arena against the Checkers. Despite having two leads in the game, the Checkers scored the game's final three goals to defeat the Lynx, 4-2. #7 Travis Fuller and #20 Matt Auffrey had the goals for the Lynx. On Friday, the Lynx broke their three-game slide with a 3-0 shutout win against the Pensacola Ice Pilots. Lynx goaltender #30 Bobby Goepfert posted his second shutout of the season with 24 saves, while #6 Will Bodine, #22 Shane Hynes and #16 Chase Watson all scored for the Lynx. On Saturday, the Lynx posted their first win in five tries against the Gwinnett Gladiators with a 2-1 win at home. The Lynx scored the final two goals of the game, one from #22 Shane Hynes and one from #20 Matt Auffrey, who scored with just :30.4 seconds remaining in the game to give the Lynx their second straight win. Lynx goaltender #30 Bobby Goepfert stopped 20 of 21 shots as the Lynx outshot Gwinnett, 41-21.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY JERSEY AUCTION RAISES OVER $14,000: This past Saturday immediately following the Lynx 2-1 win over the Gladiators, the Lynx held a special auction for the St. Patrick's Day jerseys worn during the game. The auction benefited the St. Vincent dePaul Health Center and raised a total of $14,775 dollars. Lynx forward/defefenseman #6 Will Bodine's jersey netted the highest amount.

AUFFREY CONTINUING GREAT ROOKIE SEASON: With four more points this past week, Lynx rookie forward #20 Matt Auffrey is continuing to show why he is a strong candidate for rookie of the year. Auffrey has 23 goals this season, which is 2nd only to Aaron Slattengren's 28. Last season, Mike Erickson led all rookies in goals with 26, which was the most since Patrick Yetman's total of 25 in 2001-02.

GOEPFERT'S SHUTOUT GIVES LYNX THREE THIS SEASON: With 24 saves in 24 shots this past Friday night against Pensacola, Lynx rookie goaltender Bobby Goepfert posted his second shutout of the season (third overall this season for the Lynx). The three shutouts eclipses last year's mark of two. Former Lynx goaltender Jason Saal holds the record for most shutouts in a season with five during the 2003-04 season.

LYNX BACK HOME THIS WEEKEND: The Augusta Lynx return to their home ice of the James Brown Arena on Friday, March 28th at 7:35pm against the Columbia Inferno, and Saturday, March 29th at 7:05pm against the Mississippi Sea Wolves.

LYNX IN THE PLAYOFFS FOR 3RD STRAIGHT SEASON: The Augusta Lynx have clinched a Kelly Cup Playoff berth for the 3rd straight season. The Lynx are in 7th place in the South Division, nine points ahead of 8th place Mississippi and six points behind 6th place Columbia. In his 9th year of professional coaching (26th overall), Head Coach Bob Ferguson has never coached a team that has missed the playoffs.

BLUES BROTHERS LIVE, SUPPORT THE TROOPS THIS SATURDAY: This Saturday, March 29th the Lynx will host the Mississippi Sea Wolves for the final time this season. The Blues Brothers will be performing live and it is the final Support the Troops night of the season. During the last Support the Troops night on February 2nd, over 5500 fans, servicemen and women were in attendance at the game, the largest Lynx crowd in 3 ½ years.

LYNX RADIO HOUR SEASON FINALE ON MONDAY, MARCH 31ST: It is the season finale of the Lynx Radio Hour! Join the Voice of the Lynx, Alex "Cheeks" Kyrias along with Head Coach Bob Ferguson as they sit down and discuss all topics related to the Lynx. This is the final show of the year and can be seen LIVE at Indigo Joe's (3730 Wheeler Rd.) in Augusta from 7-8pm on Monday, March 31st.

COMPARED TO LAST YEAR: After 66 games last season, the Lynx were 37-26-1-2. This season after 66 games, the Lynx are 30-32-1-3. The Lynx won a franchise-record 39 games last season.
