Royals First Round Playoff Dates Announced

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL today announced the game dates for the North Division Semi-Final Playoff match-up with the Elmira Jackals. It has now been determined that the Royals and Jackals can finish no higher than second and no lower than third in the North Division, and thus will face one another in the first round best-of-seven series. It is yet to be determined which of the two teams will earn the second seed, and the two potential playoff scenarios are set out below.

A limited number of tickets for the games to be played at the Sovereign Center in Reading are available on a special pre-sale basis beginning today: Monday, March 24, 2008 at 2:00 pm. These special pre-sale tickets are only available through the Royals' ticket department and can be purchased with a credit card by phone (610-898-7825) or in person at the Royals' offices (645 Penn Street, 3rd Floor, Reading) between the hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. All playoff tickets will go on-sale on Wednesday, April 1st at 10:00 am, and will be available through the regular avenues of purchase, including the Royals' website (www.royalshockey.com), Ticketmaster's website (www.ticketmaster.com), the Sovereign Center Box Office, and the Royals' office (telephone number and address noted above).

Game 1: Friday, April 11 @ Elmira (7:35pm)

Game 2: Saturday, April 12 @ Reading (7:05 pm)

Game 3: Monday, April 14 @ Reading (7:05 pm)

Game 4: Wednesday, April 16 @ Elmira (7:05 pm)

Game 5: Thursday, April 17 @ Reading (7:05 pm), if necessary

Game 6: Saturday, April 19 @ Elmira (7:35 pm), if necessary

Game 7: Sunday, April 20 @ Reading (5:05 pm), if necessary

Scenario #2: Elmira Finishes in 2nd

Game 1: Friday, April 11 @ Elmira (7:35pm)

Game 2: Saturday, April 12 @ Reading (7:05 pm)

Game 3: Tuesday, April 15 @ Elmira (7:05 pm)

Game 4: Thursday, April 17 @ Reading (7:05 pm)

The Royals return to action tomorrow night (Tuesday, March 25; 7:00 pm) at the E.J. Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio, where the team will take on the Dayton Bombers. The game night broadcast on Tuesday will begin at 7:05 pm with the pre-game warm-up show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata, as well as on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
