Rays Add Two to Roster

The Week That Was:

The Stingrays looked to continue their winning streak as the team played New Years Eve before traveling down to Estero, FL to face the Everblades in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday.

On Monday night, the Rays picked up their 12th win, this one against Columbia, as they rung in the new year with a 3-1 victory over the Inferno. Scott Romfo, Tim Judy, and Cail MacLean each had goals in the victory as the Stingrays continued the winning streak and the ECHL record for most consecutive wins this season.

Following the game on Monday, the team traveled to Florida to begin the longest road trip of the season. Prior to the trip, the Rays added goalie Jay Chrapala and center T.J. Sakaluk, but are still skating only 15 players. The Rays got off to a strong start leading 3-1 in the early part of the second period, but the Everblades scored five unanswered goals, two in the second and three in the third, to end the Stingrays winning streak by defeating the Rays 6-3.

On Saturday, the Rays looked to avenge their loss on Friday, but were unable to as the Everblades defeated them again, this time 7-2. Jay Chrapala saw action in the game as he stopped 11 of 12 shots in the third period.
