Texas Wildcatters News Release
The Wildcatters enjoyed two more victories and ever-increasing attendance numbers as the team rolled Charlotte 4-2 Friday and 4-1 Saturday. At 17-0-4 in the last 21 games, the Catters have tied the ECHL record for consecutive games without a regulation loss held by Richmond which went 15-0-6 from Nov. 12-Dec. 30, 1995. The wins stretch their South Division lead to 12 points over the Gwinnett Gladiators (21-8-1-2 = 45 pts.).
Earlier in the week Malcolm Cameron was selected his second consecutive All-Star Game by virtue of Texas having a 24-2-5 record and the best winning percentage (.855) in the American Conference on Jan. 2, surpassing 2006-07 when they were 20-6-3 (.741). Cameron is 67-24-14 (.705) in two seasons and is the winningest coach in team history surpassing Ray Edwards, who was 66-58-16 from 1998-2000 when the team played in Huntington, WV.

1/4 /08 4-2 WIN v. Charlotte:
Brandon Benedict scored the game-winner and added two assists as the Catters moved to 25-1-4 versus South Division opponents with a 4-2 win over Charlotte. Scott Champagne and Kevin Baker also scored and John McNabb added an empty-net goal to seal the game for Texas. Peter Aubry collected his 13th victory with 35 saves.
1/5/08 4-1 WIN v. Charlotte:
The Wildcatters moved to 11-1-1-3 at home with a decisive 4-1 victory over Charlotte. John Adams netted his third goal of the season just 39 seconds into the game and Moises Gutierrez scored his fourth goal in three games with what proved the game-winner at 7:01 of the first period. Anton Khudobin remains unbeaten in regulation this season (13-0-0-3), making 25 saves in the victory. Coach Malcolm Cameron became the winningest coach in club history (67), surpassing Ray Edwards' 66 (Huntington 1998-2000).

Player Notes: Defenseman Cleve Kinley leads Texas with a +18 rating (tie 4th in ECHL), he has 4 goals and 11 assists this season...Brandon Benedict extended his points/assists streak to 8 games with 1g-2a Friday and 1g-1a Saturday...Anton Khudobin remained undefeated in regulation going 1-0 (13-0-0-3), Khudobin and Peter Aubry have lowest combined GAA (2.22) and highest save percentage (.925) of any duo in ECHL ...John McNabb remained near the top of ECHL scorers with 1g-2a over the weekend (17-28= 45pts)
Team Notes: Unbeaten in regulation streak now at club-record 21 games, matches ECHL record....Head Coach Malcolm Cameron broke the coaching career 400-point mark with 2 weekend wins (182-100-39 = 403 pts)...Cameron became winningest coach in club history with 67 wins, record of 66 held previously by Ray Edwards (Huntington 1998-2000)
