San Antonio Rampage News Release
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Jan. 7, 2015) - The San Antonio Rampage (20-12-3-0) defeated the Rochester Americans (14-21-1-0) 3-1 in front of 5,608 at Blue Cross Arena Wednesday night. This was the first win of the season series, as the Rampage finished off a six-game road trip with a 3-3 record.
To start a busy first period, Ryan Martindale put the Silver and Black on the board first with a shot that rolled right past Andrey Makarov in net. Blake Parlett made it a 2-0 game at 12:41, as Josh McFadden picked up his first point of the season with the primary assist. Dan Catenacci gave the home team their first and only goal of the game, converting off a turnover on a Rampage clearing attempt, and the teams entered the first intermission with San Antonio holding a 2-1 lead.
Bobby Butler potted his 15th goal of the season and the lone tally of the second stanza midway through the frame, which would stand as the final goal of the game in a 3-1 Rampage win.
Dan Ellis, playing in back-to-back starts for the first time this season, made 27 saves on 28 shots. The Rampage matched a season low in penalty minutes with four.
