SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, fell to the San Antonio Rampage 3-2 in their return from the AHL All-Star break on Friday night. Jason Robertson provided the offense for Texas as he recorded two goals, but the Rampage net the deciding goal late in the game to seal the victory.

San Antonio quickly opened scoring with a power play goal. Dillon Heatherington was whistled for slashing just 28 seconds into the contest and Nolan Stevens teamed up with Kilm Kostin to tally the first goal. Kostin slid the puck between his own legs onto the stick of Stevens, who ripped a quick shot past Landon Bow. Less than three minutes later, the Rampage doubled their advantage over Texas. Stevens controlled the puck behind the net and dished it behind his back to Jordan Nolan. From there, the forward lifted a shot over Bow's pad from the side of the crease.

With one minute remaining until the intermission and momentum gained from a late power play, Robertson put the Stars on the board. Nick Caamano drove the net and forced the puck along the pads of Villie Husso. With the puck loose in front of the net, Robertson snuck in a goal to cut the Rampage lead in half at the first intermission.

In a scoreless second period, San Antonio piled on a game-high 16 shots, but Bow stood strong in the Texas goal to hold the score at 2-1. Each team saw power play minutes in the middle frame, but ultimately could not convert on the opportunities. Eventually, Texas would go 1-for-3 on the man advantage while San Antonio converted on one of their four chances.

With seven minutes remaining in the game, Texas tied the game thanks to a power play goal from Robertson. The rookie forward net his second of the night, and 17th of the season, with an impressive top-shelf tuck on the power play. However, the Rampage got the final word as Dakota Joshua walked the puck over the offensive line and ripped a shot past Bow's glove with less than four minutes to play. The Stars late effort with Bow on the bench yielded nothing on the scoreboard and resulting in a 3-2 San Antonio win.

Husso collected his 11th win and third against Texas as he notched 29 saves. Bow suffered the loss after surrendering three goals on San Antonio's 29 shots.

The Stars continue their travels on Tuesday, Feb. 4 as the team faces the Rockford IceHogs at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford, Illinois. The 7 p.m. puck drop will continue a six-game road trip for Texas that also features games against the Milwaukee Admirals and Grand Rapids Griffins.
