Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders fell to the Buffalo Bisons in the tenth inning by a score of 2-1. Estevan Florial homered for the 19th time this season in the loss.
After a stellar start from Tanner Tully that saw him retire the first eight batters faced, a pitching duel ensued between the Bisons Bullpen and the lefty.
In the bottom of the sixth, the RailRiders struck first by way of Estevan Florial. Florial launched a 403-ft solo shot that bounced off the bridge giving SWB a 1-0 lead. It was his 19th homer of the summer, the most he has had in one season in his career.
In the top of the ninth, Wynton Bernard drew a leadoff walk for Buffalo and advanced on a stolen base and errant throw. LJ Tally worked a walk and set runners up on first and third. Nathan Lukes hit an RBI double to drive in Bernard, tying it up at 1-1. The Bisons had runners on, but could not get a groundout ended the inning.
With Spencer Horwitz placed on second base, Davis Schneider drew a walk to start extras. A groundout advanced Horwitz and Schneider to scoring position. Jordan Luplow brought Schneider in with an RBI sacrifice fly giving Buffalo a 2-1 advantage.
Southpaw Tanner Tully was terrific, going six innings, allowing no runs on four hits with three strikeouts. Matt Krook went 1.2 innings scoreless with a pair of strikeouts. Michael Gomez tossed 2.1 innings gave up two runs, one earned, on a hit and three walks.
