Charlotte Knights News Release
(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - The Charlotte Knights dropped game two of the six-game series against the Louisville Bats by a score of 2-1 on Thursday night from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte.
With the rain falling, the Knights loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning against Louisville reliever Ricky Karcher with a chance to win game two. Unfortunately, shortstop Erik González grounded into a game-ending double play, ending Charlotte's hopes of a late-inning comeback.
Designated hitter Víctor Reyes had another solid day at the plate for the Knights. Reyes went 3-for-4 to raise his team-high batting average to .324 on the season. Right fielder Oscar Colás also had a solid day, chipping in with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning. Colás finished the game with two hits and the RBI. His RBI single tied the game at 1-1, but the Bats came back to score the go-ahead run in the ninth inning.
RHP Alex Colomé (4-1, 2.66) was saddled with the loss after he gave up an RBI single to Michael Siani in the top of the ninth inning.
RHP Chase Solesky started the game for the Knights and was sharp over five innings. Solesky, who was making his Truist Field debut, allowed one run on one hit. He did not factor in the decision in his second Triple-A start of his career.
The Knights will continue the six-game series against the Louisville Bats (Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) from Truist Field on Friday night and play a doubleheader. The "Voice of the Knights" Matt Swierad and long-time broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action on www.CharlotteKnights.com. Fans can also watch the game live on MiLB.tv or the Bally Live app. First pitch of game one of Friday is set for 5:30 p.m. from Uptown Charlotte.
