
RailRiders best the IronPigs on Tuesday

Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Allentown, PA) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (73-68) were bested by the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Tuesday evening as they lost 4-3.
Jorge Bonifacio gave Lehigh Valley a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning with one out. The right-fielder hit a home run against Mitch Spence - his 14th of the season. The IronPigs tacked on two more runs against Spence in the bottom of the fifth inning. Scott Kingery hit an RBI triple that scored Ali Castillo and Darick Hall hit an RBI single that scored Kingery.
IronPigs starting pitcher Noah Skirrow was superb through six innings as he gave up just one hit and issued one walk with five strikeouts recorded. Jakob Hernandez entered the game to pitch the top of the seventh inning for Lehigh Valley. The RailRiders were able to take a 4-3 lead as Ronald Guzman hit a grand slam against Hernandez.
Chris Devenski pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of Hernandez. He gave up one hit and struck out three batters. Nick Duron issued one walk and recorded one strikeout in one inning pitched for Lehigh Valley.
Chasen Shreve (1-0) earned the win for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as he struck out two batters in one inning pitched. Jimmy Cordero earned his third save of the season by retiring the side in the bottom of the ninth inning.
The IronPigs and RailRiders continue their series on Wednesday evening at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
