Radunske Named ECHL Player of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. * The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced in conjunction with the ECHL that forward Brock Radunske has been named CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month for March 2007.

The 23-year-old led the ECHL in March with 13 goals and 29 points and finished third in the month with 16 assists as the Thunder went 12-4-0 and secured their first-ever Kelly Cup Playoffs berth.

Since being assigned to the Thunder by the Edmonton Oilers on Mar. 3, the Kitchener, Ontario native has scored in 15 of his 16 games and has 33 points (14g-19a). He currently has a 13-game point streak (12g-18a) during which he had a five-game goal streak (8g) from Mar. 18-27.

After he tied his career highs with three assists and four points in a 5-4 win against Victoria on Mar. 9, the 6-foot-4 and 200-pound Radunske had five points (2g-3a) in a 6-3 win at Utah on Mar. 22, setting a personal career best and the Thunder team record for points. He had four two-goal games, three multiple-assist games and scored two points or more in eight of 16 games during the month.

Selected in the third round (79th overall) by Edmonton in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and under contract with the Oilers, Radunske began the season in the American Hockey League where he had two goals and 12 penalty minutes in 20 games with Grand Rapids.

In his third professional season, Radunske has played each of his first two years in the ECHL where he has 116 points (64g-52a) and 122 penalty minutes in 118 regular season games with Greenville and Stockton and three points (1g-2a) and 14 penalty minutes in 16 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs for Greenville. He played in the AHL as a rookie and this season and has four points (3g-1a) and 14 penalty minutes in 28 regular season games with Edmonton and Grand Rapids.

Radunske played three seasons at Michigan State University where he had 64 points (27g-37a) and 118 penalty minutes in 119 games from 2001-04.

Runners Up: Mark Lee, Charlotte (15 gp, 8g, 20a, 28 pts) and Yannick Tifu, Dayton (16 gp, 7g, 18a, 25 pts).
