2006-07 All-ECHL Second Team Revealed

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Thursday announced the Second Team All-ECHL selections as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches.

F - Scott Bertoli, Trenton Titans (61 gp, 30g, 46a, 76 pts, +2)
F - Scott Mifsud, Gwinnett Gladiators (68 gp, 26g, 66a, 92 pts, -8)

F - Mike Pandolfo, Trenton Titans (48 gp, 36g, 31a, 67 pts, +0)

D - Sean Blanchard, Augusta Lynx (57 gp, 13g, 34a, 47 pts, +1)

D - Matt Shasby, Alaska Aces (64 gp, 10g, 43a, 53 pts, +40)

G - Mike McKenna, Las Vegas Wranglers (36 gp, 25-4-7, 2.27 GAA, .926 Save Pct.)

Scott Bertoli of Trenton is tied for 10th in the league with 76 points, 13th with 30 goals and tied for 14th with 46 assists in 61 games. He has season highs for goals and points in a career that began in the Titans' inaugural season in 1999-2000. He has played his entire career with Trenton and is the team's all-time regular season leader with 181 goals, 342 assists, 523 points in 504 games and has 61 points (14g-47a) in 62 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

In his second professional season, Scott Mifsud of Gwinnett is second in the league with 66 assists, 92 points, 44 power-play assists and 55 power-play points in 68 games. He has the league's longest scoring streak at 19 games from Jan. 5-Feb. 23 during which he had 33 points (8g-25a). He has had a nine-game assist streak two times, Jan. 5-30 (15a) and Feb. 3-23 (10a). Mifsud has also played one game in the American Hockey League with Worcester.

Mike Pandolfo of Trenton is tied for fourth in the league with 36 goals and is sixth with 16 power-play goals while scoring 67 points in 48 games. He had a six-game goal streak (10g) from Nov. 25-Dec. 9 and a 13-game point streak (12g-12a) from Nov. 5-Dec. 10. Under contract to Lowell of the AHL, Pandolfo was recalled on Feb. 17 and has eight points (4g-4a) in 18 games for the Devils.

Sean Blanchard of Augusta is tied for fifth among league defensemen with 13 goals, eight power-play goals and 47 points and is tied for eighth with 34 assists in 57 games. Under contract to Portland of the AHL, Blanchard was recalled on Mar. 22 and has five points (3g-2a) in nine games for the Pirates. He played overseas from 2001-06 after playing in the ECHL his first three professional seasons. He has 106 points (23g-83a) in 168 regular season games and 10 assists in 22 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs, including eight assists in 17 games in 1999 when he helped Mississippi win the Kelly Cup.

Matt Shasby of Alaska leads the ECHL in plus-minus rating with +40 and is second among league defensemen with 43 assists and tied for second with two shorthand goals while he is third with 53 points. In his fourth professional season, Shasby has 143 points (29g-114a) in 237 regular season games and 10 points (4g-6a) in 26 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs, including 10 points (4g-6a) in 22 games in 2006 when he helped Alaska win the Kelly Cup.

Mike McKenna of Las Vegas is 25-4-7 and leads the ECHL with a goals-against average of 2.27 and a save percentage of .926 while he is tied for second with five shutouts. He has been selected to the ECHL All-Star Game in each of his first two seasons and in 2007 was voted as the starter and made 17 saves for the National Conference in the first period. The 23-year-old is 44-6-8 with six shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.22 and a save percentage of .925 in 61 regular season games and 1-1 with a goals-against average of 3.12 and a save percentage of .905 in four games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

The ECHL will announce the winner of the Sportsmanship Award on Friday.
