Ice Pilots announce Dwayne Hay to play Saturday
April 5, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release
PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL announced today (Thursday) that forward Dwayne Hay has been cleared by doctors and will be in the line-up Saturday when the team hosts the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. at The Hangar. It's the final regular season home game for the Ice Pilots.
Hay, who has been sidelined since February 3rd with an injury, announced his retirement from professional hockey. He says he's not ruling out a return to play next season.
"Within recent weeks I have been skating with the team in practices and on game days, and it made me re-evaluate the age I am at and that I still have some playing time ahead of me," Hay said. "I may have made the decision more on frustration through the injury at the time. While skating with the team during my rehab, I felt rejuvenated and revitalized to play the game again."
In 37 games with the Ice Pilots, Hay has 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points and 36 penalty minutes.
Saturday promises to be an exciting night of hockey and fun at The Hangar. It's fan appreciation night and Koozies will be handed out at the door. There will be other great prizes drawn throughout the night. The Ice Pilots will be auctioning off the home white jerseys immediately after the game.
Tickets are available at the Pensacola Civic Center Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations. For further information including group rates call the Ice Pilots office at 432-PUCK.
Fans can tune into the action on the official flagship station of the Ice Pilots, Classic Country AM1620 beginning with pre-game show coverage at 6:45 pm. Denis J. Puska has all of the exciting play-by-play at 7 pm. The game is also available on the world wide web at www.icepilots.com powered by Sportsjuice and video coverage is provided by the B2 Networks and a high speed internet connection is required in order to view the game.
