Kevin Baker of Texas is tied for third in the league with 17 power-play goals while his 80 points are fifth and his 35 goals tie him for sixth. He was voted as a starter for the ECHL All-Star Game and scored a goal and had an assist in the American Conference's 6-3 win. He had a point in each of his first 16 games this season, scoring 28 points (16g-12a) including eight goals during a six-game goal streak from Oct. 27-Nov. 10. Baker, who returned to professional hockey after playing three years at Acadia University from 2003-06, has 96 points (41g-55a) in 78 regular season ECHL games with Johnstown and Texas and had five points (4g-1a) in five games for Johnstown in the 2002 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Marty Flichel of Idaho is third in the league with career bests of 39 goals, 87 points and 42 power-play points. He is tied for seventh in the league with 15 power-play goals while his six game-winning goals are tied for eighth and his career-high 48 assists are tied for 10th. The 31-year-old played in the ECHL as a rookie with Dayton in 1996-97 and has played each of the last three seasons with Idaho. He has 203 points (89g-114a) in 188 career regular season games and six points (2g-4a) in nine games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.

Brad Schell of Gwinnett leads the ECHL with 85 assists, 53 power-play assists, 110 points and 63 power-play points in 63 games. The 85 assists and 110 points are the most scored in the league since 1999-2000 when John Spoltore of Louisiana had 92 assists and 119 points in 66 games. The first player since 2002-03 to score 100 points, Schell is eight assists shy of the ECHL record of 93 assists by Dan Gauthier of Knoxville in 1990-91. He was named as a starter for the 2007 ECHL All-Star Game and scored the first goal in the American Conference's 6-3 win. Under contract to the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League, the 22-year-old is currently playing in the AHL where he has three points (1g-2a) in seven games with Chicago. In his third professional season, Schell has 242 points (62g-180a) in 194 regular season games and 19 points (3g-16a) in 25 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs for Gwinnett.

Jon Awe of Gwinnett leads ECHL defensemen with 25 goals and 19 power-play goals and is second with 55 points and tied for second with three game-winning goals in 58 games. The 19 power-play goals breaks the ECHL record of 16 power-play goals by Joe Cook of Columbus in 1993-94 and tied by four-time ECHL Defenseman of the Year and seven-time ECHL All-Star Chris Valicevic in 1995-96. The 26-year-old became only the fourth defenseman since 2000-01 to score 20 goals and he needs three goals to tie the ECHL record for goals by a defenseman held by Jay Neal of Toledo, who had 28 goals in 1994-95. Awe was voted to be a starter in the ECHL All-Star Game and set the ECHL record for hardest shot in the skills competition with 102.2 mph, easily surpassing the mark of 99.3 mph set in 1999 by Jaroslav Obsut. Under AHL contract to Chicago, the 6-foot-4 and 220-pound Awe has also played in the AHL this season where he has four points (1g-3a) in five games with Chicago while also playing two games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. In his second professional season, he was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team in 2005-06 and has 90 points (39g-51a) in 107 regular season games and nine points (5g-4a) in 17 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the Gladiators.

Peter Metcalf of Alaska leads ECHL defensemen with 47 assists and 60 points while his nine power-play goals tie him for third and his 13 goals tie him for fifth. The 28-year-old has played in the ECHL all five of his professional seasons and had 164 points (30g-130a) in 218 regular season games with Alaska, Atlantic City, Idaho and Trenton. He has played in the Kelly Cup Playoffs three times and has 26 points (8g-18a) in 45 games while helping Atlantic City win the championship as a rookie in 2003 and helping Alaska capture the title a year ago.

Adam Berkhoel of Dayton is 22-16-3 and is second in the league with a goals-against average of 2.39 while his five shutouts tie him for second. Berkhoel was the starting goaltender for the American Conference in the ECHL All-Star Game and was named Most Valuable Player after stopping 10 of 11 shots in the first period of a 6-3 win. Under contract to Buffalo of the National Hockey League, Berkhoel has also played six games in the AHL with Rochester where he is 2-3-0 with a goals-against average of 3.22 and a save percentage of .899. In his third professional season, Berkhoel is 41-30-9 with eight shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.46 and a save percentage of .910 in 80 regular season games in the ECHL with Gwinnett and Dayton.

The ECHL will announce the winner of the Sportsmanship Award on Friday.
